I'm a twit, but I'm not very good at being a twit [16 Jan 2011|03:19pm]
Hi ya'll! If anyone's out there, that is.

Since there is literally zero activity on my friends page, I really don't feel the need to log into LJ regularly anymore. It's kind of sad.

I think I mentioned previously that I deleted my facebook profile. What I didn't mention is that some coworkers peer-pressured me into getting an account on Twitter. My name on there is... get ready for it... "etiji". It's a public account, but I haven't posted anything yet.

It's really weird to think about how ALL of the people I used to talk to from pretty much any time before 2005 I've either lost contact with or grown apart from. Most of my social ties to the internet are gone, and the ones that aren't are mostly people I see every day anyway. I miss the old days sometimes, but I like how things are going right now. I'm still going to community college and working two jobs during the holiday season, but I really have no complaints about it.

Anyway, I don't really think "goodbye" is appropriate. "See ya later" then, maybe?

I think it's dead, Jim. [03 Dec 2010|05:00pm]
Man, where'd the internet go? I feel like an old relic.

I'm posting this from a phone, though. I guess that's worth something.

Hi! It's been a while!

I looked at the friends page today, and there is ONE POST THERE.

Did everyone move on to other places? I deleted my Facebook (sorry, but fuck that place) but I assume that's where all the hardcore bloggin' action is these days. Or Twitter, because MTV says so.

I Can Run, I've Got New Balance [07 Mar 2010|12:01pm]
Out of disrespect for my ankles, knees, and hips, i'm gonna do the Broad Street Run in May, a 10 mile jaunt 'cross the beautiful (cough) city of Philadelphia!

So, who wants to come to Philly for a weekend and run around the city with 30000 of your closest strangers? =P

Know what is awesome? [01 Nov 2009|11:35pm]
I was here on the 30th.

Picture of the Spectrum in Philly during the second-to-last concert there ever, during set-up for Pearl Jam.

It was pretty awesome. Played a lot of weird non-radio stuff, but it's all good. Killer night.

...also I'm gonna go see LTJ in about two weeks and sit on the stage. =D

I think something is wrong with me. [25 Oct 2009|03:52pm]
I think something is wrong with me.

Indications:
1) Last night I skipped out of my regular scheduled of MTG with roommates/coworkers to go bowling.
2) I've been logging on to UOSS a lot lately... to actually play a char. I'm level 46. I'm APing. I've never done either before.
3)
4) I can't stop listening to Owl City.
5) I stared at the candy dish on my desk today for like 2 hours wanting a Peppermint Patty, but there were currently two of each kind in the dish and I didn't want to disturb the delicate balance, also I was too lazy to OPEN THE DRAWER NEXT TO ME AND GET ONE FROM THE BAG.
6) WHERE THE HELL DID NUMBER THREE GO?
7) With the occasional exception of hockey, I don't like sports, especially baseball because it's goddamn boring. I suddenly care about baseball because it might mean I call in sick to go to a parade. I also hate parades.
8) I wish I was cool enough to not suck at Razor Scooters.

This is when I try to get a prescription and the doc looks at me like I'm retarded, because I MIGHT BE.

Writer's Block: Fantasy Sports [04 Aug 2009|04:37pm]
Imagine you manage a coven of baseball-playing vampires. The Cullen family is really strong this year and you want to bring in a ringer. Which currently active MLB baseball player do you sire?

Chase Utley. Mostly because I need someone who isn't afraid to take a congratulatory podium at an award ceremony in front of thousands of fans (and televised live to millions) and use the chance to scream "WORLD FUCKIN CHAMPIONS!". It shows a lot of moxie.

My second choice would be Vernon Wells, because I'm pretty sure he's already some kind of undead.

TGA Auction [05 Jun 2009|12:36am]
This weekend I will be at the TGA auction up in Massachusets. TGA, or Tokyo Game Action, was an arcade and bowling alley focused mostly on music/Bemani and fighting games. A lot of imports, rare stuff (especially on the east coast), and a cool place in general. Last December they were flooded (for the second time in their history) and closed permanently.

I'm drivin a minivan. sweet.

Workin' Them Dollars [08 Apr 2009|02:53pm]
One of my coworkers stopped in my office just now. "I think I just became a real banker," she said.

I looked at her funny. "What do you mean?"

She opened her hand to reveal two small pills. "I'm taking antacid."

I just flew in from Long Island, and boy is my middle finger tired! [06 Apr 2009|10:48am]
This weekend I went to I-Con in New York. It was a lot of fun. There were video games and hot dogs with french fries. A man dressed as a Naruto gave me a coupon for magic cards that was also good on yugioh cards. It was a lot of fun. The end!

(Pictures and details later.)

Star Conquest [16 Feb 2009|05:14pm]
It appears Star Conquest has returned, but... well, they've always been very heavy on enforcing roleplay, and I've never been good at roleplay, so I was slightly dismayed to see that they now require you to write out a character background and submit it for approval.

So, this is what they got from me:

"Etiji Emitmeelb is possibly one of the most outwardly unimpressive, cookie-cutter, mediocre, not-deserving-to-be-detailed personas to grace the stars. Born in the 2270s, Etiji was raised in a well-off-but-not-rich family in a good-but-not-great-but-certainly-not-dangerous part of town attending a public-but-not-underfunded school. He went through school as somewhat the underachiever, more liking to spend time loitering around the shopping districts of Chetumal or in the holocades pumping credits into Panic Panic Danceaholic Edition 7 Plus Solo. Having never undergone serious hardship, he is most likely to approach a situation by taking a deep understanding of the surface of the problem and a scant knowledge of any deeper or non-apparent issues that may arise. Oftentimes he appears to not take things seriously, preferring to make the quick joke or taking the opening to throw out a lame pun than to offer practical solutions in non-urgent situations. However, when it comes down to crunch time, his training to throw a school project together the night before it is due has given him ability to work well under pressure."

Sadly, this is probably the most comprehensive character profile I have written for anything ever.

Mr. Day, will you be joining?

I really don't have any intentions of going to Vegas anytime soon (or ever, you know how I get along with airplanes... I don't), but if/when I do, I'm so doing this.
